Eric HolmesAthletics Coach
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eric Holmes ran track, played football, and rowed crew at the collegiate level. Holmes first participated in football at Mt. SAC college, where a rigorous practice/competing and studying regime enabled him to transfer to the University of Southern California.
While at USC, Holmes was recruited to become an oarsman and competed for the crew team. He then walked onto the USC football team and made it as a free safety. Holmes's career at USC was cut short after a leg injury. Still, Holmes trained rigorously at a professional athletic development facility to prepare for an NFL expansion team tryout in Atlanta, Georgia. All though he was not picked up by a team, this is when he first got his exposure to training and individual coaching.
Holmes has since worked in the sports agency business as a recruiter and player developer in the PAC-12, as well as with youth in after-school programs both locally and internationally. He is also an "F" Certified soccer coach and Positive Coaching Alliance certified. Eric is entering his second year of coaching both boys and girls soccer at Mirman. He currently volunteers his time at Project Africa Global, a nonprofit that addresses the AIDS epidemic in South Africa. Holmes is also actively involved in with S.H.A.R.E., a nonprofit that focuses on mental health awareness.
When Holmes is not training, he enjoys live music, improving his BBQ smoking skills, Neopolitan pizza making and traveling. Holmes holds a Double-Goal Coach: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons certification through the Positive Coaching Alliance.
