Kate InsanaUpper School English Teacher
A recent transplant to Los Angeles, Kate Insana joined Mirman from Regis High School in New York, NY, where she was a high school English teacher. During her time at Regis, she served as a freshman advisor as well as a parent liaison, forming partnerships with both students and families. She also moderated the school's literary magazine and founded its writing workshop as well as a gender equality initiative. She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from New York University and a dual B.A. in English and Spanish from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Her work has appeared in various literary publications, and she has been named a finalist by "Glimmer Train," the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, and was on the short list for the Dzanc Book Prize.
