Fall of 2001 marked the beginning of Wendy Samson’s tenure at Mirman School. Before that, she taught English at Immaculate Heart Middle School for six years.
Her first degree, in English Literature, was from the University of California at Santa Cruz, from which she graduated with honors in the major. She briefly attended the University of Kentucky at Louisville, where she contemplated pursuing an M.F.A. in Creative Writing, but realizing that teaching was her true passion, she followed by a session at San Francisco State University, where she obtained her California State Teaching Credential.
At Mirman, Mrs. Samson revels in her First and Third Year English classes. Passionate about language and design, Mrs. Samson also advises the yearbook class. She also serves as the Head of the Upper School English Department and is an avid member of the Educational Technology Committee.
Outside of school Mrs. Samson enjoys volunteering at the Glendale Humane Society, practicing yoga, gardening, and preparing an ever-changing assortment of vegan food.
