Concert Singers Strike 'Gold' at Heritage Festival
The Upper School Concert Singers returned from their concert tour at the Heritage Festival of Gold this past week in Anaheim, California. The choir earned their spot in the competition after winning top honors last year in Montreal. The singers are still celebrating their victorious win after a very rigorous adjudication from esteemed choral professionals, Donald Brinegar, Co. A. Philip Waite and David Stocker. The choir received scores of 91, 91, and 91 - making them one of the top 4 choirs.
The choirs, mostly high school, from Canada, North Carolina, Missouri, Washington, Alaska, and Arizona all sang very high-level music and were at the top of their game. But, it was Mirman that truly came through in the end, receiving superior ratings and the opportunity to perform their dazzling and difficult repertoire on the evening encore concert at Segerstrom Concert Hall. Camille B., Jason G., David D., Edie G., and Sinclaire L. were chosen to participate in the Festival of Gold Honor Choir.
Next up! The Concert Singers will be singing the National Anthem on Thursday, May 14 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Please come to the game or tune in for their stunning performance. The Concert Singers will be traveling to San Francisco next year (April 15-19) for The Festival of Gold at Davies Symphony Hall.
