What’s the tallest structure you can build with toothpicks and marshmallows? How would you maintain your building’s structural integrity while pushing the the limits of height? What did architects consider when designing and building famous structures, such as the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

These were the points of discussion between our Rooms 2 students, tech guru and Mirman parent Frank Weeks, and myself during their initial Design Thinking class this week. The students came away with a better understanding of the thought process that goes into designing and constructing buildings. Check out the photo gallery of their constructions below!

I’m pleased to share that we’ll be having weekly Technology Integration classes in the Lower School! They will be led by our tech-savvy trio (pictured right) of Tracy Knavel (Rooms 3), Carolin Chhor (Rooms 4 and 5), and Michelle Weng (Rooms 1 and 2). We’re excited to finish the year in technology on a high note. Please feel free to contact the teachers with any questions.
