Mirman Mathletes led by Mr. Nathan Orr, Ms. Tricia Ro, and Ms. Kara Luna competed in a total of four rounds — three individual rounds and one team round. The first round was a mental math challenge in which students had to answer as many of 80 questions as they could in 10 minutes. In the second round, students were given 40 minutes to answer 30 multiple-choice questions without the use of a calculator. For the third round, students were given four pairs of problems and had six minutes to answer each pair. The final round was the team round in which teams of four students (grouped by grade level) had to answer 10 questions in 20 minutes.

We are very proud of all of the mathematicians that participated! As a whole school, Mirman placed first in our division. Individual awards were given out by grade-level through 10th place. Additionally, based on their individual or overall test scores, students were able to qualify for the state competition in April or May. If they qualify there, they will move on to the national competition in Texas.
