New re-usable mugs move Mirman further into the green!
School Psychologist Dr. Dena Scott, librarian Robin Raval, and Science Assistant Teacher Emily Donnelly have been working with the wonderful US Students Sophie S., Mischa D., India R., and Katherine S. in efforts to make Mirman go green. They created this video in order to educate us all on why we should make the switch from paper cups to our brand new mugs!
Check out their video below, along with some fun (or not-so-fun) facts about paper cups, and why you should make the switch in your own home, office, or school!
Why you should use re-useable mugs:
1. The glue used to hold a paper cup together partially dissolves when coffee is poured into it, releasing toxins into your drink.
2. Americans throw away 25 billion styrofoam coffee cups every year, and 2.5 million plastic beverage bottles every hour.
3. Paper cups can’t be recycled or composted because of the wax/plastic that line the cup so it won’t dissolve.
4. Reusable mugs can keep the heat in your coffee for hours.
