Robotics Teams Advance to Regional Championship
Two Mirman robotics teams, M2 Robotics and Mirman Robotics, placed in the top five of 24 teams in the First Lego League Robotics Qualifying Tournament and will advance to the 2015 Los Angeles Regional Championship.
Mirman Robotics also won first place in Robot Design, while M2 Robotics also won second place in Robot Performance. All three Mirman teams, including our rookie Mirman Bots, placed in the top 10 in the Robot Game. Congratulations to Coach Arpa Ghazarian, STEM Director Jeffery Flagg, Mirman Alumni mentor Arjun Mahajan, and all of the team members. A special thanks to all of our parent mentors and volunteers!
First Lego League Information
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. Elementary and middle-school students get to:
Design, build and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS or EV3 technology
Apply real-world math and science concepts
Research challenges facing today’s scientists
Learn critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills
Participate in tournaments and celebrations
