Track & Field Athletes Take Their First Meet in Stride
This past weekend, Mirman's
Track & Field squad visited Chaminade High School for the Eagles
Invitational Track Meet. Comprised of student-athletes from Rooms 4
through Upper School 4, the boys and girls raced, relayed, and jumped
during a rare Southern California downpour.
Mirman School finished in 3rd place
overall, with a 1st place finish in the Boys 4x100m Relay Race. The
overall finish is especially impressive because Mirman didn't even have
athletes competing in two of the older age groups.
Coach Brown and Coach Sabu were on hand to offer guidance and instruction, calming nerves and sowing encouragement throughout the day. When the rain started coming down, nobody dared to leave. Mirman parents simply grabbed some umbrellas and rolled with the weather. It was a very successful day for all involved!
Mirman students also set several individual meet records. Josephine W. (US2) set JV records for the Long Jump, 100m and 200m events! Grayson T. (4B) set the Novice (Boy's) record for the Long Jump - and this was his very first track meet!
