Library in Third Grade
Students will use both print and digital resources strengthen information literacy skills through various strategies. In alignment with the Language Arts program, students will learn to connect plots and themes to individual experiences and communities to explore relevance and personal interests.
Students continue to advance their understanding of the world around us through literature and media; to think critically and ask questions, exploring multiple perspectives; draw conclusions; evaluate resources; respect intellectual property; and other bedrock concepts of the Library curriculum.
In addition, students in Room 4 will:
- Use divergent and convergent thinking to formulate alternative conclusions and test those conclusions against evidence presented in literature and research.
- Monitor information seeking processes, and adapt when necessary, and act on information.
- Reflect on learning objectives, processes, levels of understanding and contributions.
- Draw conclusions and connections through evidence during research and discussion processes.
