How to Apply

  • Kindergarten

    Please note: In order to apply for Kindergarten, students should be five years old by September 1 of the year they will begin Kindergarten.

    1. Take IQ Test
      Results due: December 5, 2025

      Make an appointment to have your child take the test with one of our approved psychologists. Test results with a target qualifying Full Scale IQ score of 138 will be sent to us upon completion.

    2. Submit Application
      Deadline: December 12, 2025

      After we’ve received the test results from our approved psychologist, we will send you a link to our online application. An application fee of $180 should also be submitted at this time.

    3. Parent/Guardian Interview
      Deadline: January 30, 2026

      Once the application is submitted, applicants' guardian(s) will schedule an interview with our admission staff. This a chance for us to get to know you and to answer any questions you have about our school.

    4. Saturday Kindergarten Playdate
      Kindergarten applicants visit our campus for a group playdate. During this time, we invite parent(s)/guardian(s) to visit with our Head of School and to hear an overview of the Mirman School mission and philosophy.

    5. Submit Kindergarten Recommendation
      Deadline: January 9, 2026

      The Kindergarten Recommendation is to be completed by the Director, Principal, or Lead Teacher at your child’s current school. Evaluations can be completed within our application portal, which will notify your recommender and let you know when your forms have been completed.

    6. Decisions Emailed
      Date: March 13, 2026

      After the applications have been completed and reviewed by our admission committee, we will send the final admission decision to each applicant.

  • Lower School (Grades 1-4)

    Please note: Openings for new students in 1st through 4th grades are contingent on attrition. It is not common to have openings in these grade levels, but we accept applications in case a space does become available. We will set up time get to know prospective students and families through visits and interviews once it is determined that we will have an opening in the appropriate grade level, usually in February.

      1. Take I.Q. Test

        The Administrator Recommendation should be completed by the Director, Principal, or Division Head of your child’s current school. The Teacher Recommendation should be completed by your child’s current teacher after the first grading period or parent conference.

        Recommendations are submitted electronically within our application portal, which will notify your recommender and let you know when your forms have been completed.

      4. Submit Student Records
        Deadline: January 9, 2026

        Please submit this form to an official at your child’s current school after completing the necessary information. The sending school will return the form to Mirman School’s Office of Admission with grades or reports for the current year as well as the previous year.

        We are not able to arrange parent/guardian interviews and student visit days for all applicant families. Once we know there is the possibility of an opening in a particular grade level, a few students from the applicant pool will be invited to campus for a student visit day, and we will arrange a parent/guardian interview. Our goal is to select students who will be the best match for the specific grade level and the space that has opened up.

        Students applying to our Lower School will be invited to spend a half day at Mirman, attending classes and getting to know Mirman students and teachers. Applicants also speak with a member of the admission staff so that we can better get to know the student.
